This is the blog for The Seekers, the senior high group at the Episcopal Church of the Ascension, Dallas, Texas.  We meet every Sunday in the Daniels Room on the courtyard at Ascension (except that once a month we meet at Starbucks instead) and we also get together from time to time outside Sunday mornings.  Check the Calendar link above for the latest updates …

Photos, video, news, and other random stuff from throughout the year will make its way to this page.  But the real action is when we get together face to face.  Why not join us sometime?

Freebirds

So there is a special event coming up this week that you don’t want to forget about: The Seekers are going out to Freebirds after the 10:15 service.  Regular group gathering happens from 9:02 to 9:50 am; then at 12:00 pm or so, meet up back in the Seekers room in the courtyard to get ready to head over.  Freebirds is in the Old Town Village center on Greenville just north of Lovers.

Important: you can drive yourself if it is OK with your parents.  You can ride with Todd or Laura IF you have a permission form on file (remember those forms we keep asking for? yep.).  You cannot ride with another youth unless you have both your parents’ and their parents’ written permission.  I know, you do it all the time, but this is a church event and we have to play by the rules (it’s all about insurance and liability and stuff).  Please help us out by taking responsibility for getting yourself there in a way that honors them.

Extra Important: If this is your first time going out to lunch with The Seekers this year, lunch is on the church!  Just ask Todd or Laura.

we have chairs!

Todd found a whole bunch of beanbag chairs on sale at Garden Ridge.  Simultaneously, Stephen found a whole bunch of folding beach recliners on sale at Albertsons.  So now instead of having a shortage, we are the kings of seating.

They are all stored inside the air handler closet there in the Seekers room, so if you’re ever in there and need more seating, just look in the closet …

in other news, you should come this Sunday for our regular group time, 9:02-9:50 am.  and, you should vote on what we are going to do the following week to get together outside Sunday morning.

Also … we are thinking of doing a car wash on October 12!  Are you up for it?

the first post …

The Seekers starts this Sunday, Sept. 7, 9:02 to 9:50 am in our all-new renovated room in the courtyard.  If you haven’t seen it yet, you definitely need to stop by.  If you have, it’s gotten even better since you saw it.

Plans are also afoot to go out to lunch together after the 10:15 service, so bring some lunch money and your opinions about the best place to eat …
