April

5 (Sun.)  Palm Sunday
Group meeting takes place as usual on this day which marks the beginning of Holy Week.

10-11 (Fri.-Sat.)  30 HOUR FAMINE
This year Ascension is joining with our sister parishes Transfiguration and Annunciation to take part in this nationwide youth event organized by World Vision to fight hunger and poverty around the world.  We’ll start at 2:00 pm on Good Friday, after the noon Good Friday liturgy (you can join us later if you’re not off school that day).  We fast for 30 hours in solidarity with the poor and hungry and the suffering of Christ.  Money we raise through sponsorships goes directly to feed and care for children around the world.  Meanwhile, we hold a progressive lock-in event going around all three of our parishes for activities, worship, games, movies, reflection, and more (plus some sleep of course …).  We end our time together by returning to church for the Great Vigil of Easter and then breaking our fast with a celebratory feast.  You won’t want to miss being a part of this event.  It’s the centerpiece of the year, just might change the way you see God and the world around you, and (oh yes) will be tons of FUN.  We’ll grow closer to Christ and one another all while helping to save children’s lives.  Put it on your calendars and get excited because YOU can make a difference!

12 (Sun.)  Happy Easter!  SSSS???
You might be exhausted.  Or you might still feel like meeting up at Starbucks.  After all, it IS still the second Sunday of the month.  Optional Starbucks gathering if anyone’s up for it, 9:02-9:50!

25 (Sat.)  Spring Into Action
This is a service day where youth from across the Dallas diocese do a service project together.  More details coming soon …
